I will admit that you always get what you pay for. I have purchased steam Engines in this price range from Bachmann a couple of times as its what I can afford. I say a couple of times as Their product works for about 90 days before something goes wrong. In one case I sent it back for repairs that cost u about $20 . The repaired product may give you about another 90 days to a year of life before something goes wrong again. Back in the old days a toy train treated with care would last for many , many years. I was told by an associate at Bachmann that their product is no longer assemble by enthusiastic craftsmen . They are now mass produced in China . I speculate with little care or quality control. Sad.
