Worked flawlessly with a 10 year old Sanwa Joystick+Button (a modified Mad catz arcade fightstick). Used it to replace broken Mad Catz PCB.But I ran into problems because Mad Catz wiring is weird.Make sure you have proper start/select and toggle electricals/plug ins. For people (somehow or like me) using old mad catz stuff and looking to repair or replace, Mad Catz has proprietary pcb board and some bizzare wiring. You will need new electrical for the start/select on their old SF4 era equipment.

After spending some time on this device and comparing it to the "gold standard" iPac series, I think I can confidently answer the question of "what do I need".This device is a fantastic value JOYSTICK encoder. Each one of the slots maps to a Joystick button in Windows and it provides both a 5-pin Sanwa-style Joystick input (and cable) as well as separate inputs for up/down/left/right for those that are.So, if you are creating a Joystick (say, a Fighting Joystick) for use with your PC where you will still have access to a Keyboard, I'd bet it'd satisfy 99% of users. Is it truly "zero delay"? No and there are tests where the delay can be somewhat significant relative to the best, but I'd best most people wouldn't notice. Now, where this device falls short is when you want a MAME device. Why? Because at its core MAME is designed to be used by a Keyboard. Yes, I was able to get it work with my Pi based MAME system and even got the "Insert Coin" and "1p Start" buttons to work, but absolutely could not get the Exit (Escape Key) to work without having to configure the software. This is where a $40+shipping iPac2 is a far, far superior solution. Not only does it perform better, but it allows you to customize the HARDWARE to send whatever Keyboard commands you want including multiple keys, Shift+key, etc. All of this is saved onto the device and gives you the ability to set 32 individual buttons/inputs meaning that it can easily support 2 players if not more. This device is still a FANTASTIC bargain and less than 1/4th the price of an iPac and so if your needs are limited to a pure Joystick, it's a no-brainer. Absolutely, though, DO NOT buy 2 of these for 2 players - pay a little bit more and a single iPac2 will be a far better solution.
