The only complaint I have is that this trowel is sold as 'broken-in' which unfortunately is not the case. The float has an epoxy coating over the magnesium which I sanded off with an orbital sander and 100 grit paper which took quite a long time.I called Marshalltown to confirm what 'broken-in' means on two different occasions. The first person said that it means it has beveled edges. The second told me that it refers to the curvature of the bottom surface being pre-curved/formed and that the coating is there for protection and storage and will wear off with time. Even if you're a professional and use this tool on a daily basis, I would guess that it would take weeks until the coating wears off as it is very hard. The whole point of having a magnesium float is for the benefits of having magnesium contact the cement.Save your money and buy the standard version.
