I like my Fein detail sander attachment. This sandpaper is high quality and I enjoy using it. I attach a shop vac to the Fein tool which captures nearly all the sanding dust.I refinished a 60 year-old maple rocking chair and used the multimaster to sand in between the rungs of the chair on the seat and under the arms of the chair. I quickly got a lot of detail sanding done by machine that I would have previously done by hand. The dust removal worked quite well but I have some pointers to help you.1. I recommend using coarser sand-paper than you might normally use to take old finish off. The finish on the rocker was heavily damaged but when I used 220 grit sandpaper off I somewhat wrecked the pad. I tested a small corner of the pad with a light touch on the finish but the finish gummed up and got hot. This heat melted the hooks on one 5/16 x 5/16 corner-point of the pad but did not render the pad unusable. I turned down the speed of the multimaster and tested in another area of the pad but it was getting too hot also. I had to use 120 grit sandpaper with a very light touch to avoid heating the sandpaper and pad.2. My shopvac overheated after a few minutes because not enough air was moving through it while attached to the Multimaster. I bought another coupler for my shopvac hose and drilled a hole in the side of the coupler to enable more air to move through the hose. I believe that the air that moves through the shop vac is used to cool the shopvac's motor (it is a Sears 16 gallon model).Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. The sander is very speedy, reasonably economical on sandpaper, and I did not have any trouble with the pad delaminating as another person reported.I also like the clip and rubber accessories for sanding molding but this is another topic. I used the clip on this accessory with long pieces of sand paper held by one side with the sander and one side in my hand to sand the rungs. This worked well but the calluses on my thumb and finger were removed so be sure to wear a cheap glove on one hand if you use this technique.Update------------------------I have used the sander on several projects most recently sanding a lacquer finish off of door jams so I can paint them white. I have consumed several boxes of sandpaper and worn out a couple of the pads now. It is important to start with a coarse enough grit and always use a slow speed to avoid glazing the sandpaper and heating the pad (melts the loops on the velcro). I am still happy with this product.
