Dieses Produkt wurde mir zum Testen kostenfrei zur Verfügung gestellt. Ich bin jedoch in meiner Meinungsfindung frei und versuche das Produkt möglichst objektiv zu bewerten.Ich hatte mich schon auf die Schaufel gefreut, da ich sonst immer eine normale Gartenschaufel auf Wanderschaft mitgenommen habe. Da ich aber gerne das Gewicht meines Gepäcks etwas reduzieren wollte, kam mir diese Schaufel gerade richtig. 26g sind nun wirklich nicht viel und die ist stabiler als ich es zu Beginn angenommen hatte.Allerdings wird es bei einigen wohl kaum bei 26g bleiben, denn zumindest ich für meinen Teil hatte keinen sonderlichen Spaß die Schaufel ohne das Paracord (bei mir lagen ca. 2,90m dünnes Paracord bei) als Griff zu benutzen. Die Kanten im Griffbereich sind zwar nicht scharfkantig, aber beim Graben (insbesondere im verwurzelten Untergrund) einfach sehr unangenehm. Falls es jemanden interessiert, habe ich die unterschiedlichen Gewichte mal fotografiert.Schade finde ich etwas, dass die Schaufel eher was für Rechtshänder ist. Als Linkshänder kann man die Seite mit den Sägezähnen beim Graben zum zertrennen der Wurzeln nur sehr umständlich genutzt werden. Da dieser Umstand aber bereits auf den Fotos vor einer Bestellung ersichtlich ist, würde ich dafür keinen Punkt abziehen.Was jedoch leider dazu führt, ist das Recht weiche Material. Klar, es ist Aluminium, aber auch da gibt es Unterschiede. Und wenn die Schaufel bereits bei kleinsten Wurzeln die ersten Macken bekommt, finde ich das schon schade. Sie fallen bislang zwar noch kaum auf, aber so oft habe ich sie auch noch nicht verwendet. Bislang ist dieser Punkt auch nur ästhetischer Natur, da die Funktionsweise bei mir nach wie vor gegeben ist.

Until now, I've been using a regular gardening trowel as part of my wild camping kit for toilet purposes, but that is very heavy and bulky "in" my pack or swings around too much if hanging "outside of" my pack.This trowel is uniformly thin with nothing fancy like a bulky handle or curved neck taking up space in the pack, so it can easily be popped into plastic bag an slotted straight into a backpack pocket. It comes with some paracord and a tiny carabiner. Looking at the pictures I'm assuming one is expected to wrap the cord around the handle to make it easier on the hands. As for the carabiner, this serves absolutely no purpose at all as it's actually too small to hook it through the hole in the handle part.You definitely need to either wrap the paracord around the handle of have good quality gloves to spare yourself from pain and discomfort... I'm not particularly great at cordage, but I do have a couple of mates that can pretty much make anything out of paracord, so I'm gonna ask one of them to fabricate some handle cushioning for me.Great item, but pricey for what is effectively nothing more than a piece of shaped aluminum. I’ve been looking for a small shovel or trowel to add to my camping gear and having tried several larger folding ones I found them all to be too heavy or not strong enough to give value. I recently saw someone use a trowel like this so I ordered this when I saw it.It is as small and light as I hoped, yet is is also pretty sturdy. You won't be digging huge holes with this while camping or using it to dig your car out of a snow drift in winter but for the other 99% of uses for a little camping shovel (especially toilet duty) this trowel will more than do the job.It’s all one solid piece of aluminium, shaped and folded to work as a trowel. The handle is a little hard on the hand if you don't wrap some paracord around it. Thankfully they include the cord. Even if you don't need a trowel on your camping trip, having paracord is always a good thing.All in all I really like this. It’s perfect for what I want and it’s replaced a bulky and heavy folding shovel in my pack. I’ll still keep the shovel in the car but I don't need to carry it on my back anymore.

The trowel really is very light and I was surprised at how strong it is. The serrated edge is very sharp and easily cuts through turf prior to digging. I like the idea of having the string wrapped around the handle (you do need it in order to comfortably use the trowel) as it means the string is available should you need it while you are out. My husband has a small hand held metal detector and this trowel is absolutely perfect to carry around and use in conjunction with metal detecting. I am very happy to recommend.

Funktioniert gut genug und wiegt so gut wie nichts. Natürlich ersetzt das ganze nicht eine vollwertige Schaufel, aber fürs Backpacking/ Trekking völlig ausreichend. Man sollte die Schaufel aber nur nutzen, wenn man das beiliegende Paracord um den Griff gewickelt hat oder Handschuhe trägt. Ansonsten ist sie doch schon etwas scharfkantig und unangenehm in der Hand.
