Despite setting my "L" limiter screw correctly so that this shouldn't happen, my (almost new) derailleur keeps randomly deciding to jam my chain behind my freewheel hub for no apparent reason, after miles and miles of riding. The last time this happened, I had to carry my bike home on my shoulders and take the entire bike apart to get the chain unstuck.A spoke protector stops this from happening - They look silly, but it's a better to have one installed and not get stranded somewhere. If your bike has its chain stuck between the cogs and the spokes, the back wheel will jam.Bear in mind that this protector won't fit a 36 spoke wheel. I decided to modify it to fit, rather than send it back (by filing off the hooks, drilling holes, and fitting to the wheel with tiny cable ties). Saying what wheels it would fit in the product description (by listing spoke numbers) would help.
