(This is the same review I gave the Funk/Disco book - another great title from Hal Leonard) Great book for learning how the horn sections are put together. Only issue is that it is written in the horn clefs which means that you have to transpose the parts to C if you want to input the parts into a DAW and hear how they sound. Not being a horn player it is a pain (another thing to learn). I use Sibelius notation software to input the score as written then have Sibelius do the transposition for me. Sweet! Now I can see how different horn sections are arranged.

Even though it says this only has transcribed horns, a bass line would make a good addition.

If you want to use these charts in a gigging environment, you have two less-than-pleasant choices: 1) make copies of the charts and make your horn players flip through 9-12 pages while playing. 2) Scan each chart, splice together the individual parts (trumpet, sax, etc) and essentially build your own 1-2 page charts for each horn. Of course, in the amount of time you spend doing such a thing, you would be better off purchasing the individual charts online. Even at $7-10 a chart, it's worth it, trust me.
