The only UVB bulbs I buy, definitely worth the money, for anyone that has reptiles buy the reptisun, never buy those cheap bulbs, always go for these. I have used these for years and my reptiles are happy and healthy. You will notice a huge difference using these bulbs over the cheap screw in bulbs, your reptile will become more alert and active, I have noticed this first hand with reptiles that I have rescued. I recommend using these in the zoomed hood with the reflector which will make the bulb penetrate a little better than it would in a regular hood without one. On the packaging on the bulb it says to change every 12 months, the bulb runs out way before then if you're using the bulb on a 10-12 hour schedule, I HIGHLY recommend you change it every 6 months to be on the safe side and know for sure your reptile is getting the adequate amount of uvb it needs. I recommend the 5.0 Reptisun for the tropical animals and the 10.0 for the desert. Also with this bulb make sure it is within 6-8 inches from your reptiles basking spot, this bulb cannot reach over 10 inches, atleast that is what I have experienced with this bulb. It'll also be very strong for the first week because that is the bulbs break in period, don't be alarmed if your reptile sort of hides from it, this can be completely natural because of how strong it'll be for the first week.I also wanted to comment on how great these bulbs are always packaged. Amazon does an amazing job at making sure these bulbs are safe for delivery!

GREAT!! This was a rare size, difficult to source, lamp.I was concerned about shipping such a long, thin, fragile UV fluorescent lamp. I didn’t want the hassle of hazardous waste disposal. The lamp arrived securely packaged to mitigate breakage risk.It even arrived ahead of schedule!

I used this light in a 65gallon aquarium which had fish and turtles. I only use this light for winter time when I bring my turtles in form my small pond for winter. It keeps the turtles healthy.
